The Waste Education and Engagement team would like to invite you to our Prom Boutique

A Prom Boutique is an event to give pre loved outfits a new life.

We are collecting donations of evening wear and accessories from members of the public and pupils in West Lothian will be able to come along and browse our collection.  If they see something they like they can take this home for a small donation which will be given to a local children's charity.  All teachers and pupil are welcome to come along.

A Prom Boutique is designed to discourage 'Fast Fashion' and prom outfits are a perfect example of outfits that are purchased, only worn once and then thrown away.  Clothing production has a big impact on our natural resources with around 300,000 tonnes of perfectly good, re-usable clothing then going to landfill every year in the UK.

Waste Education therefore want to encourage reusing clothes and giving them a second life.  The Prom Boutique will also reduce the expense for families of buying a brand new outfit and benefit those who might not have previously been able to afford a suitable outfit for what might be the highlight of a young person's school year.

We are collecting donations of good quality dresses, suits, shoes and accessories from the following locations from Wednesday 27 March until Thursday 18 April:

  • Arrochar House Livingston
  • Fauldhouse Partnership
  • Bathgate Partnership
  • Linlithgow Partnership
  • Armadale CIS
  • Strathbrock Partnership

The Prom Boutique will take place on Friday 26 April from 5.30pm - 7.30pm in Bathgate Partnership Centre.
